The Mystery Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month for about an hour, and everyone is welcome (no registration required).The theme for December is Mysteries set in the Regency Era. These are books set roughly between 1795 - 1857, but can be set anywhere in the world, not only within the British Empire.For each meeting, members read a book that falls within the theme for the month. At the meeting each member has a turn to discuss their book and gives the book a star rating out of five. A suggested reading list will be included below after a theme is determined, or feel free chat with a librarian for additional suggestions. There is also a monthly display of suggested reading on the fireplace mantel in the Mystery room, located on the upper level of the library. Are you interested in a specific historical research topic but are uncertain where to start, are stuck on a research question, or are curious about the St. Croix Collection? Sign up for an hour-long session to work individually with a historian who specializes in Minnesota history at Stillwater Public Library. Please submit a brief description of your project, specific things you are looking for in the St. Croix Collection, and anything else that would be helpful to know when preparing for your visit. Registration is required. Please visit the Information Desk on the lower level of the library at the appointment start time.Historian Hannah Dyson graduated with a bachelor’s in history from Augsburg University, published several articles on Minnesota history, and worked in historical archives around the Twin Cities.
