Limited amounts of materials are available to learn how to use the equipment. Please bring your own flash drive for permanent storage. On Friday, December 5, In the Heart of the Beast Theatre will dazzle and delight with a puppet storytime based on popular children's books, bringing stories to life with their unique, hand-made puppets. Children will have the chance to engage with the theatre's soft puppets following the storytime, envisioning themselves at puppeteers and storytellers! This program is funded by the Ramsey County Library Friends. It’s Fri-Yay! Join us every Friday at 10:30 a.m. for a lively event geared towards children ages 2 to 5. We will feature local performers, special storytimes, community helpers, arts activities, and more!

Local printmaking artist Diana Eicher will guide and educate students through the next level of block print making after hosting her basics classes in our library earlier this year. Previous carving and block printing experience is necessary to register for this class. Please bring a 4x6 printed photograph to work from for inspiration (vs just looking at one on your phone.)  Registration will open 2 weeks prior to class at 10am.  Space is limited. Diana Joanne Eicher, received her MFA in Printmaking from the University of Hawaii, and her BA in Painting from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Diana studied painting in Italian at the Accademia di Belle Arti, in Venice, Italy and aluminum plate lithography at Tamarind Institute. Diana is the Director of the Printmaking and Papermaking Studios at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and oversees with the studios for books, intaglio, letterpress, lithography, papermaking, photogravure, screenprinting, and woodcut. Eicher has taught at the Honolulu Printmaking Workshop, the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the Minneapolis Community and Technical College, The Ox-Bow School of Art: School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Textile Center of Minnesota, and the University of Hawaii.

Books will be available the day of to read from in varying reading levels, or feel free to bring your own.  Appropriate for ages 6-9.
