Dear Caregivers,    On Friday, February 27, we will be having a book character/vocabulary word parade for all grades. Students in grades K-5 will dress up as a book character or vocabulary word. (Please reach out to your classroom teacher for specifications or questions). This is in celebration of “I Love to Read Month.” Students will celebrate book characters or vocabulary words with a parade through the school. Families are welcome to come to the gym to view the student character parade at 8:15. K-5: For this at-home project, please help your child choose one favorite book character or vocabulary word and an easy at-home costume to help your child “become” this character or represent the word. When choosing a costume, please keep a few things in mind: No face paint or character masks Your child may wear the costume to school or independently put it on when they arrive. Keep props to a minimum and school appropriate. (e.g., No Weapons). Have your child bring the book from which the character is from. If choosing a vocabulary word, please create a quick sign stating the  word.  We look forward to seeing your child celebrate their creativity and love of reading! Please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher with any questions.
