NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGSPROPOSED ROAD DIET/LANE CONVERSIONS FORSOUTH MAIN STREET at 6:00PM & NORTH MAIN STREET at 6:30PMTAKE NOTICE that two public hearings will be held in the Mount Clemens Commission Chambers on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The Commission Chambers are located at City Hall, One Crocker Boulevard, Mount Clemens, MI 48043.The purpose of these hearings is to obtain the views of citizens and business owners concerning the proposed road diets / lane conversions for North Main Street and South Main Street, between Market Street and Robertson Street:South Main Street: The proposed plan would reduce the travel way from four vehicular lanes (two northbound and two southbound) to three lanes â one northbound, one southbound, and a center turning lane. In addition, two bicycle lanes would be added on each side of the street.North Main Street: The proposed plan would maintain three vehicular lanes (one each northbound and southbound, and a center turning lane near intersection). Away from intersection, the center lane would turn into a landscaped green corridor with raised medians. In addition, existing angled parking spaces would be converted to parallel parking, making room for two bicycle lanes on each side of the street.During these hearings, AEW, the Cityâs Engineering consultant, will present an overview of the proposed designs and lane conversions.
