Mushroom Growing Workshop: Keweenaw Mushrooms and Copper Country Recycling Initiative invites you to join Zack Osborne at the Portage Library District Library's Community Room for a special Earth Day event on Saturday, April 20th from 12-2 for a mushroom growing and cooking workshop.Learn about cooking mushrooms from 12-1:00 p.m. and growing mushrooms from blocks from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. This is a hands-on free workshop. The Michigan People's Coalition in collaboration with multiple groups in town including Michigan United, Michigan People's Campaign,  Keweenaw Youth for Climate Action and Yoopers for Ukraine wanted to host a series of trainings for Rural Action. These initial trainings are a series of  three stand alone trainings that do build upon each other but are not prerequisites for each training.  March 23rd - Part One: Share your story is complete April 10th - Part Two: Direct Action Training.  Will be an opportunity for the community to understand what direct action is and what it is not and how to use it impactfully for community change. Gabe from Keweenaw Youth for Climate Action. April 22nd - Part Three: Legislative Power. Spend an evening with Michigan People's Coalition to learn how to have powerful, impactful legislative meetings and why speaking to your legislators are so important. Yoopers for Ukraine's will highlight their recent trip to DC . To honor earth day,  KYCA will lead us in a legislation action plea for the Keep the UP Wild initiative.
