Forbidden Romance. Family Drama. Mistaken Identities. Murder. No this isn’t a soap opera or telenovela - it’s Ernest Maltravers by Louisa Medina, a melodrama from 1838. Based on the novel of the same name, Ernest Maltravers follows Alice Darvil, the daughter of a prolific thief, as she navigates the complications of love and family.
