The program will start with a short Powerpoint presentation explaining how human beings react to stress. We will then learn how mindfulness can soften our natural reactivity by engaging in simple mindfulness practices everyone can do.  Adam Liss, a Barnstable resident since 1977, trained at the University of Massachusetts’ Stress Reduction Clinic and Center for Mindfulness to teach the evidence based program “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction”. We’ll use felt, thread, button eyes, pipe cleaners, and cotton stuffing to hand-sew an adorable cat to hang or gift. Basic sewing will be involved, but beginners are warmly welcome — we’ll guide you through each step. All materials are provided. Just bring your creativity (and maybe your love of cats!).
