All Makers tools are designated into zones, including general craft, sewing, and XY cutter (Silhouette). A full list of All Makers tools can be accessed in this document. The SPL Learning Lab Makerspace provides access to tools and machines. Users must bring their own materials. Per the Makerspace Policy, some materials are excluded from the Makerspace. Try Aequora and see how Latin can improve your critical and analytical thinking, language arts skills, and problem solving! Aequora is an outreach program of the Paideia Institute, designed to be an engaging, relevant, and inclusive introductory Latin curriculum. The Aequora curriculum will introduce the basics of Latin vocabulary, grammar, Roman culture, and mythology through interactive activities, hands-on story-telling, and exciting games. Such activities include matching games and puzzles, acting out skits and plays, creating crafts that the Romans used to make, and (safe) relay races. More importantly, Aequora is designed to engage the student's critical and analytical thinking skills, whether through re-enacting a famous ancient battle or a serious discussion about the outdated societal norms enacted by the Romans. This class is led by Aaron Z as part of our Teens Teach program. This class will meet on Thursdays throughout the fall. All Makers times equipment can include the Silhouette cutter, the sewing machine, the iron/ironing board, the paper cutter, and general crafting tools. Once the orientation is complete, users will have access to the Learning Lab's All Makers hours, which are listed on the Makerspace website. For more information about the SPL Learning Lab Makerspace visit the Makerspace website. All Makers times are for experienced users only. Users must be capable of handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Users 13-16 may use tools designated as "All Makers" under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
