A riveting and stylish saga set in Paris during World War II, The Art Spy uncovers the true story of how an unlikely heroine infiltrated the Nazi leadership to save the world's most treasured masterpieces. The book was longlisted for the 2025 American Library of Paris Book Award. Young, an award-winning journalist and author, is a graduate of Harvard College in the History of Art and Architecture and holds a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, where she is a Professor of Architecture. Boston Light – the first established Light Station in colonial America – began lighting the way for safe navigation into the fledging maritime port of Boston in 1716. The Fresnel Lens in the lantern room and fog signal apparatus situated on Little Brewster Island at the entrance to Boston Harbor continues as an active Coast Guard maintained aid-to-navigation, today. However, its notoriety in the maritime community as the “the last manned Coast Guard Light Station” in the country has come to closure with the retirement of Sally Snowman, its 70th keeper.  A power-point presentation provide photos of Boston Light’s 307 years of history and few photo anecdotes of Sally’s experiences as a 21st Century Keeper. We are also thrilled to welcome Jeremy D'Entremont to the conversation (check out some of his past events with us on this YouTube Channel). Join us for a fun exercise class for the whole family!  We will warm up with slow songs to stretch, breathe to connect with the body, and move along to the beat of enjoyable, family-friendly, dance music. Each song will have a different energy level and suggested set of movements, and all participants are encouraged to improvise when inspired. Props will be provided to add to the enjoyment of movement and play.   There will also be chairs and a chill zone to sit, lie down or read, and plenty of space for children and caregivers to move freely throughout the Brenner room. Class will begin a few minutes after 2 PM and we will move for 30 minutes, with breaks taken as often as you would like.   Children of all ages welcome!  No prior dance or yoga experience necessary. About Osha Rose A health and wellness coach, Osha guides families from stress to stillness through the art of yoga, dance, and soulful living. Come join us at the Rockport Library for a new monthly Cookbook Club!  Share your experiences, samples, recipes and hacks with other food lovers and cooking enthusiasts.   This month's theme is COLD COMFORT FOOD.   Monthly theme is determined by the attendees the month prior.  Ask the front desk or search our online catalog for help selecting a cookbook with recipes for each theme.
