Enjoy reading in a visual format? Appreciate art? Curious about picking up your first graphic novel? If any of these sound like you, try joining our graphic novel book club!We'll tackle everything from vintage classics in a new layout (titles like The Odyssey, Pride & Predjudice, Slaughterhouse Five) to biographies (titles like Persepolis, Maus, Fun Home), to sci-fi/fantasy favorites (titles like Sandman, Nimona, SAGA). Copies of the book will be available for pickup a month ahead of time at the main branch; simply ask the Circulation desk for the graphic novel club book. Registration is appreciated, but not required. This month's book is: TBD.

On Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 PM, we welcome chess players of all levels who would like to join the Plymouth Public Library Chess Club to join us at the Main Library. The program is open to adults and students. Chess sets are provided, although please feel free to bring your own chess set if you have one. Space will be reserved for play in the Nook Road study room areas. (Please check with the Reference Desk if you need directions).We are grateful for the guidance which will be provided by Bill Petrillo, an experienced chess instructor, who has taught and led chess educational programs around the country for the USA Chess Federation, and also Jim Pritchard, who has been volunteering his expertise to educate people on chess – the royal game.

The system should automatically check for conflicts, but there is a tab to click on if you don't see a green message that says "available."Fill in your name in the Event Creator spaceAdd category and an audience tag as appropriate and an event image. (Maximum image sizes 170 x 250 px portrait or 170 x 170 square (will resize most photos as long as not too big).If you require registration, check that box and set a maximum number for registration, the dates for registration to begin and close, etc. and select the registration form you want to use from the dropdown menu. Registrants will automatically get a registration confirmation email - you can also elect to set a 1 day (or as desired) follow up email. Enter your email address for the BCC email confirmation. The default is to automatically publish all events to Facebook and Twitter - uncheck these options if you don't want to publicize right away. (don't forget to delete all of these instructions and replace with your event description)
