FREE HiSET/GED Classes at the Plymouth Public LibraryThe Plymouth Public Library Adult Literacy Program is now enrolling for HiSET/GED classes that begin the first week of September. Please join us for a new student orientation where you will learn about our program and take a few very short assessments for class placement. We enroll any Massachusetts resident age 16 looking to earn their high school credential. Our students' ages have ranged from 16-83.Day HISET/GED classes meet Tuesday through Friday 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Night HISET/GED classes meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM or 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM depending on class placement after initial orientation.All classes, books, materials, GED/HiSET testing, college and career advising, and graduation ceremony are FREE!The Literacy Staff look forward to meeting you to help you with your goals.

On Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 PM, we welcome chess players of all levels who would like to join the Plymouth Public Library Chess Club to join us at the Main Library. The program is open to adults and students. Chess sets are provided, although please feel free to bring your own chess set if you have one. Space will be reserved for play in the Nook Road study room areas. (Please check with the Reference Desk if you need directions).We are grateful for the guidance which will be provided by Bill Petrillo, an experienced chess instructor, who has taught and led chess educational programs around the country for the USA Chess Federation, and also Jim Pritchard, who has been volunteering his expertise to educate people on chess – the royal game.
