Ready to knit your very first pair of socks? This intermediate class is designed for knitters who are comfortable with the basics and are ready to level up their skills. MUST SIGN UP FOR ALL THREE CLASSES!!  Please call 508-693-9433 or email [email protected] to register. Prerequisites: This is not a beginner class. Participants must already be able to: Knit in the round using four double-pointed needles Work increases and decreases Knit ribbing Read a pattern independently These techniques will be used in class but not taught. Over three sessions, you’ll complete your first sock and cast on your second—so you’ll leave confident and well on your way to a finished pair! Please note that there will be homework between classes to keep you on track. Materials: Yarn will be provided. Bring double-pointed needles in size 2, 3, 4, or 5. A limited number of needles will be available if you don’t have your own. Come turn that ball of yarn into something cozy and handmade—you may never buy store-bought socks again!

This supportive program begins with a brief, informative discussion of chronic illness in children and the unique emotional, practical, and relational challenges faced by parents and caregivers. We will also explore how therapy can be used as a helpful tool to strengthen coping skills and improve quality of life for both children and those who care for them. The program will then transition into a longer sharing and connection space, where participants are invited to share their experiences, challenges, and insights in a warm, supportive, and understanding environment. The goal is to foster connection, reduce isolation, and create a space where caregivers feel heard, validated, and supported. This program will be facilitated by Alix Kramer, LCSW (IL) / LICSW (MA):   Alix is a mental health therapist who works exclusively with clients with chronic health conditions at her therapy practice, Road Back Therapy. She provides CBT, ACT and hypnotherapy as well as general talk therapy to help those with chronic illnesses increase quality of life and improve coping.
