Club Advisor: Mrs. Lisa LeBlanc     Email: [email protected] Club Mission: The mission of the Lunenburg Mock Trial program is to assist students in developing the leadership, civility, communication and effective advocacy skills necessary to confidently approach debates and trials through the process of reading case files, creating scripts and performing a trial according to Massachusetts Bar Association guidelines. Club Meetings: Mandatory Tuesday 2:45 - 4:15 practice plus one-two additional meetings per week (student choice) Where: LMHS D135 (on the middle school side) Who can join: Any student in grades 9-12; members should possess strong reading and analysis skills as well as a desire to improve public speech and acting techniques; those interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or legal studies Brief description of club, activities, and members: Mock trials are a competitive cross between debate and theater. Students assume roles in a legal prosecution/defense created by the Massachusetts Bar Association and argue the case before real judges in real court. The team is also coached by a professional attorney so mock trial members may need to have additional meetings during the evenings or on weekends.

Club Advisor: Mrs. Portillo Email: [email protected] Club Mission: Lunenburg Best Buddies is an organization dedicated to establishing a school wide volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships and leadership development for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Club Meetings: Club meets Tuesdays during long homeroom and has monthly group outings. 1:1 buddy pairs generally meet more often  Where:   In school meetings are generally in the Achieve room, but are occasionally moved to the gym, café, or outside. Who can join:  anyone in grades 9-12 Brief description of club, activities, and members: Best Buddies fosters friendships between students with and without disabilities. We play games, cook, and socialize in school and get to do activities like apple picking, go to plays, and go bowling outside of school.

Club Advisor: Mr. Cantatore Email: [email protected] Club Mission: A chance to listen to, share, and be introduced to music Club Meetings: After school Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 Where: A207 Who can join: Anyone , any time. No commitment, just drop by. What you need: An open mind, a love for music, and preferably a good pair of headphones. Brief description of club, activities, and members: Every week on Wednesday I will host a music sharing forum in my room after school. Each week there will be a theme - a category or an artist, for example "A Song with a Great Intro" or "A Pump Up Song". During the week between you will have a chance to prepare a song that fits the category or listen to the artist if you so choose. We will take turns picking a sing that applies and we will all listen to it. Students will be encouraged to use their own headphones to listen but I can play it as well. I will facilitate brief discussions and playlists when necessary. While we do this, please feel free to bring homework to work on if you like to multi-task and I will be happy to give math help.  You are not required to like every song, you just have to have an open mind and be willing to listen once. If you'd prefer to listen and not pick songs, that's fine too. If people come regularly, I will absolutely love for members to decide categories or artists the club does.

Club Meetings: Wednesday after school and other days or evenings as planned. Where: B166 Who can join: Anyone in grades 9-12 who wants to engage with art making. Brief description of club, activities, and members: Art club is open to all students who are interested in art, want to pursue personal art interests, and would like opportunities to collaborate with peers. Prior experience in art is not required, however being personally motivated  is helpful. Students are encouraged to come to art club with an idea of what they would like to focus on that day (personal artwork, skill building, or working on a class project)  A variety of various mediums will be introduced at the start of the year and Mr. Barry-Grove will always be available for one on one instruction. Art club is a great way to try something new or polish up on a medium that you enjoy while being with other students who share similar interests.

In the council, students work with others to enact positive change in the school community and act as liaisons between teachers, administrators, and other students. Throughout the campaign process, school day, and other events student council representatives positively reflect the values of Lunenburg High School as they act with dignity, pride, and respect.  Club Meetings:  Wednesday afternoons Where: Room A142 Who can join: Grades 9-12. Elected by classmates, anyone can come to meetings and participate in activities.  Non-elected members can not vote on official issues.
