With more than 20,000 acres, Cape Codâs marshes are the ultimate defensive lineâbuffering storms, fighting sea level rise, and taking on climate change like absolute champions. But the matchup is tough: according to the Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC), 36% (roughly 7,000 acres) of our historic salt marshes have already been lost or severely degraded. Artistâs statement: For the last twenty years most of my painting has been a response to what is growing in the land around me. Whether from direct contact with my garden or the woods surrounding it, a glimpse of roadside scene or even the memory of a dream, the urge is the same: to capture that plant-action. I see personalities, communication, or simply grace, dignity and wisdom. To satisfy my curiosity and capture these qualities, I wait for the painting to tell me what it wants and allow my participation in the gestures of the natural world. Katherine Nora has lived on Cape Cod for most of her life and shown her work here for decades. She is known for depicting the natural world with bold colors and strong brush strokes. And if you are in Orleans having a coffee at the Hot Chocolate Sparrow, look towards the CVS building and you will see the incredible âDepot Muralâ that depicts the âYesterday-Year Railroad Stationâ by artists Katherine Nora and Dan Joy. The mural is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the train arriving in Orleans. A multi-talented artist, Katherine is also the author of three novels, two of which are historical fiction set in Orleans: Theo and Ria and Sipsonâs Island and Pepromeno, a Greek word meaning destiny or fate, chronicles a sonâs discovery of his missing father. Bob Enos    An Artistic Odyssey : Realism to Abstract Exhibit dates: February 28th â April 4th, 2026 Opening Reception: February 28th 3-5pm ARTIST STATEMENT My work is increasingly abstract.  New paintings are no longer interested in representing subjects realistically.  Though made with controlled and disciplined technique, the works break free to become sometimes playful and sometimes mysterious pieces that intrigue with their subtle changes in value, color, and dimension.  In some works my desire is to marry the chromatic joys and sensual play of painting with the structural strength of sculpture.  The goal in all my work is to make the viewer reach new levels of visual awareness and appreciation.

According to curatorial materials, Louis C. Tiffany âstaffed his studios with designers, artists, and artisans who shared his passion for the rich colors and sinuous forms found in nature.â This gave the studio the ability to âtranslate natural forms faithfully into glass: velvety or paper-thin petals, waxy or veined leaves, dappled sunlight or shadow, and much more.â This exhibition was put together by The Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass, in Queens, New York.

While the class is aimed at beginners with no prior experience, you can also have fun coming back to try new techniques. The Glass Experience is suitable for persons aged 12 and up. $150 per person / $275 for two people / $400 for three. You will be working with molten glass so please dress appropriately. Specifically, please wear:Closed toe shoes. No sandals, flip flops, etc.Long pants & socks, no synthetics. Jeans are ok.Long sleeve shirt, cotton. Fuller Farm Friday995 MA-149, Marstons Mills, MA 02648 For 2-hours this month, you can join BLTâs âgreen teamâ by volunteering at Fuller Farm, a 22-acre signature property with a short woodland loop overlooking cranberry bogs and an open meadow trail following the field edge of a former dairy farm. The volunteer project might include trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, pollinator garden weeding, and something related. This program is supported in part by the Cape and Islands United Way. Note: Registration is required for each individual First Friday project. Volunteers should be prepared for physical activity including lifting, kneeling, digging, and cutting brush. BYO water, work gloves, and wear pants and closed-toe shoes. Training will be provided. Limited tools will be provided. If you prefer to bring your own â shovels, loppers, hand saws, and/or rakes are recommended. Naturescape Gallery at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presentsFlora by artist Katherine Nora, February 14 â April 30, 2026, during Museum open hours. Artistâs statement: For the last twenty years most of my painting has been a response to what is growing in the land around me. Whether from direct contact with my garden or the woods surrounding it, a glimpse of roadside scene or even the memory of a dream, the urge is the same: to capture that plant-action. I see personalities, communication, or simply grace, dignity and wisdom. To satisfy my curiosity and capture these qualities, I wait for the painting to tell me what it wants and allow my participation in the gestures of the natural world. Katherine Nora has lived on Cape Cod for most of her life and shown her work here for decades. She is known for depicting the natural world with bold colors and strong brush strokes. And if you are in Orleans having a coffee at the Hot Chocolate Sparrow, look towards the CVS building and you will see the incredible âDepot Muralâ that depicts the âYesterday-Year Railroad Stationâ by artists Katherine Nora and Dan Joy. The mural is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the train arriving in Orleans. A multi-talented artist, Katherine is also the author of three novels, two of which are historical fiction set in Orleans: Theo and Ria and Sipsonâs Island and Pepromeno, a Greek word meaning destiny or fate, chronicles a sonâs discovery of his missing father. Bob Enos    An Artistic Odyssey : Realism to Abstract Exhibit dates: February 28th â April 4th, 2026 Opening Reception: February 28th 3-5pm ARTIST STATEMENT My work is increasingly abstract.  New paintings are no longer interested in representing subjects realistically.  Though made with controlled and disciplined technique, the works break free to become sometimes playful and sometimes mysterious pieces that intrigue with their subtle changes in value, color, and dimension.  In some works my desire is to marry the chromatic joys and sensual play of painting with the structural strength of sculpture.  The goal in all my work is to make the viewer reach new levels of visual awareness and appreciation.

Local historian and author Paul Chesbro will lead an engaging history presentation focused on the village of Osterville, Massachusetts, exploring its rich heritage and evolution over time. Paul will guide the audience through key chapters in Ostervilleâs development, including the rise of its maritime legacyâhighlighting the world-renowned Crosby Yacht Yard, known for building traditional catboats and Wianno class sailboats that have become synonymous with the areaâs nautical identity. Along with vivid descriptions of 19th- and early 20th-century community life and industry, Chesbro illustrates how Osterville evolved from an oyster-harvesting settlement into a cherished coastal village with deep local traditions and historical landmarks. Period photographs and anecdotes will enrich the talk, helping attendees connect personally with the stories of the people and places that shaped the village. The event offers both long-time residents and visitors a deeper appreciation for Ostervilleâs heritage and underscores the importance of preserving its unique historical narrative.
