Treetop Yoga is back at Hammond Castle Museum for another summer of outdoor yoga overlooking Gloucester Harbor. Every week through July and August, come find your practice on the lawn — Atlantic coastline on one side, the castle towering above on the other. All levels welcome. Come as you are. Sign up for the five-week July series, the five-week August series, or drop in for a single class. Bring a mat you don't mind putting on the grass, a towel, water, and sunscreen. The North Shore Arts Association welcomes you to experience a solo exhibition of works by North Shore Arts member and critically acclaimed painter, Jeffrey Weaver, on view from August 6 – August 30, 2026 with a Reception Friday, August 7 from 6PM-8PM. Jeff Weaver, born and raised in Massachusetts, showed early artistic talent, taking portrait commissions by age fourteen and winning statewide awards in drawing and sculpture while studying under sculptor Eleanor Marvin. After high school, he attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and moved to Gloucester in 1972, where he sketched and painted the waterfront daily. He supported himself through waterfront jobs, boat portrait commissions, and more than 30 murals throughout the city. Since returning to fine art in the 1990s, he has focused on depicting Gloucester and now operates a studio/gallery on Rogers Street along the waterfront. Step inside the breathtaking home of one of the most prolific inventors of the 20th century, John Hays Hammond, Jr. In keeping with our founder’s original vision for his seaside castle-home to serve as a museum offering the Gloucester community access to ancient works of architectural art, Hammond Castle Museum is pleased to offer free self-guided tours to Gloucester residents every Tuesday throughout the regular tour season, which runs through early November, and during the holiday season, Museum-wide temporary exhibit, Deck the Halls. Proof of residency for all Gloucester Gratis Days reservations is required upon check-in at the Museum. Advance registration is recommended but not required. You may also register upon arrival in the Museum Shop. Flexible Arrival Times for Self-Guided Tours: Experience Hammond Castle Museum at your own pace with our flexible arrival times for self-guided tours. A one-day immersive workshop for educators, facilitators, and youth development professionals to explore how our adventure curriculum can support your advisory group. See what it looks like to build a safe and supportive space and activate growth and reflection. Circle of Strength consists of a curriculum to help your classroom, school, team, or program enhance your advisory experience. This curriculum can also be used outside of school in any organization that meets regularly with a group of young people. This could include youth groups, teams, after school programs and more!   Circle of Strength is a new Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) advisory curriculum with 15 tailored lessons for grades 6-12. Each grade has a SEL focus – such as building healthy friendships or embracing diversity – which you will see reflected in the curriculum’s core lessons. This workshop is designed to introduce you to the book, practice facilitating activities, and support adapting it to your setting.   The Circle of Strength curriculum utilizes PA activities and methodologies to build healthy relationships and develop SEL competencies. The activities in Circle of Strength are experiential in nature and designed for students and adults to build community through play. They replicate the powerful aspects of larger adventures - things like elements of surprise, problem-solving, reflection, self-discovery, and connection with others – in a more manageable and accessible setting. You will also learn the basics of facilitation versus teaching to support your programming. You can add any of these activities into your preexisting advisory curriculum, or start fresh!   During this workshop you will: Learn how to utilize SEL focused adventure activities in the advisory space and experience them yourself   Discuss and implement PA core foundations as they apply to the advisory community   Practice facilitation skills and preview the 15 lessons across each grade to build growth and reflection into your advisory spaces   Adapt and customize activities for any setting, support your current efforts in the advisory space  Connect with others doing similar work and reflect on your experiences to deepen your application  You will leave with: A copy of our Circle of Strength Book   Ready to use strategies and PA foundations  A clear understanding of how to cultivate community in your advisory spaces

Join us every Wednesday morning in July & August for Bubbles and Books on our seaside lawn! Bubbles and Books is so much more than just storytime. It’s a seaside bubble party featuring stories, music, crafts, a light snack & even an outdoor scavenger hunt. Doors open at 10:00 am, with bubbles and a craft, then the story & snacks begin about 10:20 am. We recommend you bring a cozy blanket for your little one to cuddle on while we enjoy the storybooks on the lawn. After storytime, enjoy more bubbles and end the morning with a kid-friendly scavenger hunt in front of the Museum. Don’t forget sunscreen, and we encourage little ones to come dressed in their favorite crown, cape, or whatever makes them feel magical! Tickets for this event are $10 for ages 8 to adults, and kids ages 7 and under are only $5. Hammond Castle Museum Member savings apply. We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes early to allow enough time for the walk from the parking lot down to the Museum, then for the check-in process and the walk to the lawn. There are many stairs throughout the campus and inside the Museum. Strollers are not allowed in the Museum or on the Museum Grounds, and oversized baby carriers are not permitted in the Museum due to the many narrow passageways. This ticket grants you access to the Bubbles & Books program, which will be held on the ocean-facing lawn. If you wish to tour the Museum after this program, ticket holders may purchase Self-Guided Tour tickets in the Museum Shop at a 20% discount. Running every Thursday evening from July 9 through August 27, Culture Splash invites residents and visitors alike to experience the Rocky Neck Cultural District in its most festive form. Galleries throw open their doors, artists welcome visitors into their studios, musicians fill the harbor air with live performances, and creative energy spills onto the streets along Gloucester's iconic working waterfront. Recognized as one of Cape Ann's signature summer traditions, Culture Splash offers something for everyone. Visitors can enjoy gallery openings, artist demonstrations, poetry readings, live music, signature cocktails, waterfront dining, and opportunities to meet the artists who make Rocky Neck one of New England's most celebrated creative communities. Step inside the breathtaking home of one of the most prolific inventors of the 20th century, John Hays Hammond, Jr. In keeping with our founder’s original vision for his seaside castle-home to serve as a museum offering the Gloucester community access to ancient works of architectural art, Hammond Castle Museum is pleased to offer free self-guided tours to Gloucester residents every Tuesday throughout the regular tour season, which runs through early November, and during the holiday season, Museum-wide temporary exhibit, Deck the Halls. Proof of residency for all Gloucester Gratis Days reservations is required upon check-in at the Museum. Advance registration is recommended but not required. You may also register upon arrival in the Museum Shop.
