Families, join us for a family fun  Winter Peeps Diorama Contest! Each family or team will be able to pick up one four pack of peeps, and then can take them home to create any type of diorama display which will be later displayed in the Children's Room with the opportunity for people to vote for their favorite diorama!  Rules:  Peeps® must feature prominently in your diorama. Limit one submission per individual/team contestant. Please use one small sized shoe box or cardboard box.  You must submit a completed copy of this form with your entry (which can be picked up in the Children's Room when you pick up your peeps and/or filled out when you bring them back to display.  Reminder: You can start picking up your peeps starting during the last week of November - Peeps can be picked up in the Children's Room.  Peep Dioramas are due back on December 4th, December 5th and December 6th.  Peeps will be displayed in the Children's Room from December 8th to December 13th and winner will be announced on December 15th! Peep Dioramas must be picked up by December 19th, or Children's Room staff members will take care of re-homing them.  Registration is required as supplies are limited! Watch in fascination as Marley comes back from the dead to help Scrooge amend his miserly ways here on earth and transform himself in a pleasant, giving old gentleman. With the help of three ghosts – the Ghost of Christmas Past, Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Future – the audience will be mesmerized as old Scrooge takes a long look at his life and reevaluates its path. Classic Christmas music will put the finishing touch on this wonderful message of hope and love – so fitting for the Christmas season! A Christmas Carol will be performed, complete with period costumes, by Lynne Moulton, Joseph Zamparelli and Fran Baron. The Delvena Theatre Company was founded in 1992 and has performed at various venues, most often at the Boston Center for the Arts. The company was nominated for five Independent Reviewers of New England awards. Its production of 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' was on Theatre Mirror's Best List for acting, directing and production. Presentations of 'Anna Weiss' and 'Beyond Therapy' were included on Theatre Mirror's best play list and 'Blue Heart' was placed on Aisle Say's best list. A Christmas Carol is recommended for ages 10 and older. The American Red Cross Babysitters Training provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old. Limited to twenty participants. Participants should bring water and a lunch for themselves. Students will not be allowed to leave for lunch unless a parent or guardian is with them. Registration Required! Register online or in person at the Recreation Department at Dracut Town Hall.
