It ​​​is a process that is truly accessible to everyone, even people who believe they have no artistic ability, and allows for easy, artful self-expression. Start your week off right by dancing, singing, and having some fun at Musical Monday! Enjoy music and stories with Alan Goodrich! Alan is a guitarist and singer-songwriter/solo performer who presents live music concerts "for kids of all ages" including classic and current children's songs and original songs. In addition to his solo performances, Alan is the lead singer and drummer for Alan and The Alligators band (a rock group based out of Concord, MA) and has also performed with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members The Platters, T Lavitz (of The Dixie Dregs, and Jefferson Starship fame), The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Greg Hawkes (of The Cars), Dave Mattacks (of Paul McCartney, and Elton John fame), and others… Alan's original music CD's have been added at over 75 radio stations across the US and Canada and charted in the Top Ten in college radio. Over the course of the academic year (Oct-May), Concord Girls Who Code members learn a variety of coding skills and work together to design, create, and produce a project that addresses a real world problem. Our adult and teen facilitators have a range of coding and project development skills. They teach and mentor participants, encouraging them to develop their abilities and confidence.  We do expect a commitment to weekly attendance. This year, we will meet in person in the workshop. Members are encouraged to bring their own computers if they can; otherwise, they can use a library laptop. We do not meet during school vacation weeks. What is Girls Who Code? Girls Who Code was started in 2012 with the single mission to close the gender gap in technology. It is a national program designed to inspire, educate, and prepare girls with computing and problem-solving skills to pursue 21st-century opportunities. Girls with a curiosity about emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, apps, and game development will learn about these interests and more in a fun and relaxed environment.
