Because of this, she has developed a deep and abiding passion for educating and empowering women in this particular phase of life!Blair Evanosky, PT, DPT, is the owner of Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy in Westford, MA, and a pelvic health expert dedicated to supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. With over 15 years of experience, her personal journey inspired her to create vital resources for women. Outside of work, Blair enjoys outdoor adventures with her family.Kerry Ann, is a Master Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and Certified Menopause Health and Fitness Specialist. Since 2010, she's been researching and implementing the most current evidence-based protocols to help others thrive during all stages of life. She helps her clients achieve healthier relationships with food and their bodies, improve their stress resilience, and gain more energy to create a healthy lifestyle that lasts. The Big Cut West of Tracyis an approximately 45-minute presentation focusing on the railroad blockades that kept food and fuel from reaching the newly-formed towns in southwestern Minnesota and southeastern Dakota Territory during the Hard Winter of 1880-81. Using the newspaper record, historic photographs, railroad maps, drone photography and video, this presentation introduces the factors that caused the tracks to clog with snow, preventing the trains from running. After delving into the weather that was so difficult that winter, we will then go through the struggle to fight the drifts that blocked the trains.About Cindy Wilson:Cindy Wilson is the author of The Beautiful Snow: The Ingalls Family, the Railroads, and the Hard Winter of 1880–81, which was awarded gold in the category of Midwest—Best Regional Non-Fiction for the 2021 Independent Publisher Book Awards (the IPPYs). It was also a 2020 finalist for the National Indie Excellence Awards. In the early research stage for The Beautiful Snow, Cindy read the diaries of surveyor Charles Wood Irish. She found them fascinating, knowing they held a fantastic story. The result is We Suffered Much.Cindy is a sought-after speaker, having given talks to groups as large as 200 people, including the most-viewed talk of 2022 for the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library. An article about photography and art depicting the Hard Winter was published in South Dakota History Vol. 53 No. 4. She is listed among the credits of the PBS American Masters Laura Ingalls Wilder: Prairie to Page (Dec. 2020) for assisting the staff with the history of the Hard Winter and finding related locations for filming. Her research was cited in Pioneer Girl: The Revised Texts, as well as Rose Wilder Lane on Railroads and the Winter of 1880-1881, South Dakota History Vol. 51 No. 3. The Chelmsford Community Garden’s annual Opening Meeting will be Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Chelmsford Public Library. The meeting is free and open to the public. It will be a good opportunity for all community gardeners to discuss updates for the 2025 season. There will also be a seed swap, so feel free to bring any extra seeds you have on hand. The Chelmsford Community Garden is currently accepting applications for returning gardeners to renew their plots for the 2025 season. There are also a limited number of plots at the Sunny Meadows location available for new gardeners. Returning and new gardeners can apply online by filling out the Garden Application.
