Nurturing Future Generations: Stories from the Heart of Grandfatherhood with Ted Page Author, Creative Entrepreneur, and Grandpa Join us in virtual conversation with storyteller and popular blogger Ted Page as we chat about his book Good Grandpa: Stories from the Heart of Grandfatherhood. This heartfelt book highlights his journey to bring together the stories and wisdom of grandfathers from all walks of life—all with a mission to nurture the next great generation. When author Ted Page found out he was going to be a grandpa, he did a web search to learn more about the experience in store for him, but all he could find were references to the movie Bad Grandpa. He couldn’t help but wonder, “Where are the good ones?” Page started a blog, GoodGrandpa.com, and set out to talk with grandfathers across a diverse spectrum. All are welcome to join the Town of Brewster for music, food, and activities at Drummer Boy Park for a celebration of Juneteenth. Enjoy a fun day of talented performers, interesting activities, educational entertainment, and more, all in honor of Juneteenth.  Stay for the whole event or stop by for a quick visit!     Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in America and occurs on the anniversary of the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas on June 19, 1865, more than 2 years after the signing of the proclamation.   Kick off the festival at the Drummer Boy Park gazebo for a re-enactment and reading of the Emancipation Proclamation.  Afterwards, you may choose to remain at the gazebo for a series of musical performers or you can explore the park and take part in some of the other activities happening throughout the event.
