Come join our Saturday Book Group led by Reference Librarian Robert Goodale.  December's discussion is on Orbital by Samantha Harvey.  This short novel was the winner of the 2024 Booker Prize, and shows a glimpse at one day in the lives of six people travelling through space.  Copies of this book are available at the library, and may also be available on Hoopla or Libby. All adult and teen puzzlers are welcome to Abington Public Library's Puzzle Race!  Challenge yourself by competing with other teams to see who can finish our secret 500-piece puzzle first!  A prize will be available for the winning pair or team. Stop by the library on Wednesday, January 7th to check out the open registration for our weekly children's programs: Preschool Playgroup: Join Miss Heidi for a 4-week mini-session of Preschool Playgroup on Tuesdays at 11:15 this winter! With a bit more of a rock and roll flair, we'll be doing some extra music and movement to help keep those winter blues away. Preschool playgroup is a parent-child program that includes longer stories, a craft/activity, and playtime! It's a perfect opportunity for children ages 3-5 and their grownups to get the storytime experience, while also getting to play and socialize with the other participants. This mini session will begin on January 20th and end on February 10th.  Toddler Time: Join Miss Amy for toddler time every Wednesday at 10:30 this winter and spring! Toddler time is 15-20 minutes of books, songs, rhymes, puppet visits, egg shaking, and scarf waving. It is perfect for children ages 0-3 and their grownups. This is a 15-week session that will begin on January 14th and end on May 6th. Preschool Story Hour: Join Miss Amy for a storytime geared towards our preschool audience every Thursday at 11:15 this fall. Preschool storytime is for children ages 3-5 who are able to separate from their parent/caregiver, sit, and listen to 3-4 longer stories for the first 25-30 minutes of the program. This 15-week session begins on January 15th and ends on May 7th. *We require walk-in registration for the first three days, and we'll begin taking sign-ups over the phone and by email on Saturday, January 10th.  *Once a child is registered, they hold a spot for the entire session. *Unsure about what program to choose for your child?
