Give your child a hands-on baking experience this summer in a professional baking studio environment. Led by Chef Tai Heath — professional pastry chef, former educator, and co-owner of 5-12 Dessert and The Baker’s Lab at 5-12 Dessert campers will build real baking skills while developing confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Get ready for the new school year with Commissioner Amanda M. Stewart, Ed.D. (District 3) at her 11th annual "Back-to-School" Community Fiesta on Saturday, Aug. 9, beginning at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the future location of the Waldorf Sports and Wellness Complex parking lot (11170 Mall Circle, Waldorf, MD 20603). Pre-K through 12th-grade students who attend a Charles County school will receive a backpack filled with back-to-school materials while supplies last.

The 7th Annual Jazz In The Country Festival returns to Charles County for a vibrant day of live jazz, wine, food, and community celebration! Gates open at 11:00 a.m., with free parking available. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating comfort. Please note that tents and outside food or beverages are not permitted. The festival is made possible in part by the Charles County Commissioners, the Town of La Plata, and the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
