In this talk, Executive Director Kyle Dalton of the Union Mills Homestead shares the historic site's long history of slavery and the enslaved. New research has shed light on the enslaved's identity, how they were held, and their resistance. Learn about their struggle through primary sources dating back to 1802.A summa cum laude graduate of Catholic University of America with a major in history and a minor in anthropology with a focus in archaeology, Kyle has over twenty years of experience as a public historian and museum professional. He is currently the Union Mills Homestead's Executive Director and lives with his wife and daughter in Frederick, Maryland.This program is sponsored by the Carroll County Genealogical Society.
