Come out to the Seashore Trolley Museum for a special winter treat! Ride in heated trolleys decked out in live holiday greens on our private heritage railroad, check out several exhibits and displays including the new model railroad building, shop in the Museum Store, and enjoy delicious hot chocolate! Only $14/person; children 2 and under that will be sitting on laps on the trolley ride are free. Santa will also be on campus during four event days–see below for times! Complimentary hot chocolate and marshmallows to roast around our outdoor fire pit are also included in the price of admission. This event will be held Friday-Sunday December 5-7 and 12-14. The start time on your ticket is the time your trolley ride will depart; we depart promptly at each departure time. Our winter trolley rides are roughly 25 minutes in length and journey through our beautiful, wooded campus. You and your family/group are welcome to arrive before or stay after your ride to enjoy the museum’s outdoor exhibits and our climate-controlled Craft Room inside our Visitors Center, which will also have (real) gingerbread house village on display created by local Gingerbread Artist Kathy Locke. In this workshop, we will use basic needle felting techniques to create three-dimensional oyster shell ornaments with layered natural coloring and hand sewn embellishments. The end result is a life like oyster shell ornament that you can cherish for years to come. Michelle is a Maine based home décor designer with over 20 years experience designing for well known home brands including Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, and Arhaus. In 2017 she launched Thirdlee & Co. as a home for her newly created needle-felted designs. Thirdlee handcrafted ornaments are recognized for their sophisticated treatment of seaside themes and attention to detail.  No experience is necessary, all tools and materials will be provided. Ride in heated trolleys decked out in live holiday greens on our private heritage railroad, check out several exhibits and displays including the new model railroad building, shop in the Museum Store, and enjoy delicious hot chocolate! Only $14/person; children 2 and under that will be sitting on laps on the trolley ride are free. Santa will also be on campus during four event days–see below for times! Complimentary hot chocolate and marshmallows to roast around our outdoor fire pit are also included in the price of admission. This event will be held Friday-Sunday December 5-7 and 12-14. The start time on your ticket is the time your trolley ride will depart; we depart promptly at each departure time. Our winter trolley rides are roughly 25 minutes in length and journey through our beautiful, wooded campus. You and your family/group are welcome to arrive before or stay after your ride to enjoy the museum’s outdoor exhibits and our climate-controlled Craft Room inside our Visitors Center, which will also have (real) gingerbread house village on display created by local Gingerbread Artist Kathy Locke. The Ogunquit Museum of American Art is excited to welcome you back to the second annual Story Trees by the Sea event, co-hosted with the Wells Public Library. Join us for a magical weekend as the Museum’s galleries transform into a winter wonderland filled with beautifully decorated trees created by local classrooms and community members. This two-day event, held on Saturday and Sunday, December 13th and 14th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is suitable for all ages and offers a great opportunity to engage during the Museum’s usual off-season! Enjoy children’s stories read aloud by local authors and student ambassadors. Participate in hands-on art activities led by Common Roots Studio Mobile Art Bus and artist Heather Lewis. Enjoy light snacks and refreshments. New this year, explore portraits created by Advanced Art students at Traip Academy as part of a 12-week collaborative project with the Museum. In addition, view powerful photographic portraits by students from York High School. Visit the Museum’s gift shop for some holiday shopping! This family-friendly event is free and open to all ages — no pre-registration is needed. Parking at the Museum is limited. Complimentary shuttle service will be available both days between the Cape Neddick Country Club parking lot and the Museum. Come out to the Seashore Trolley Museum for a special winter treat! Ride in heated trolleys decked out in live holiday greens on our private heritage railroad, check out several exhibits and displays including the new model railroad building, shop in the Museum Store, and enjoy delicious hot chocolate! Only $14/person; children 2 and under that will be sitting on laps on the trolley ride are free. Santa will also be on campus during four event days–see below for times! Complimentary hot chocolate and marshmallows to roast around our outdoor fire pit are also included in the price of admission. This event will be held Friday-Sunday December 5-7 and 12-14. The start time on your ticket is the time your trolley ride will depart; we depart promptly at each departure time. Our winter trolley rides are roughly 25 minutes in length and journey through our beautiful, wooded campus. You and your family/group are welcome to arrive before or stay after your ride to enjoy the museum’s outdoor exhibits and our climate-controlled Craft Room inside our Visitors Center, which will also have (real) gingerbread house village on display created by local Gingerbread Artist Kathy Locke. The Museum will be open from 9:30AM-5:30PM. The last trolley ride departs from the Visitors Center at 5PM each day. This event will be held rain, light snow or shine. Santa will be on campus and available for photos during the following dates and times: Sunday, 12/7 from 3PM-5:30PM; and Friday-Sunday December 12-14 from 9:30AM-12PM and 1PM-5:30PM. Our heritage railway is approximately 3 miles from downtown Kennebunkport and does not connect with downtown Kennebunkport. Our trolleys are the real deal and operate on a railroad, not paved roads — the “trolleys” that travel on the roads are imitation trolleys built to look like the trolleys that operated in the early 1900s, the original trolleys that we have preserved and now operate on our heritage railway (please see photos above and below). Accessibility: Seashore Trolley Museum has a Mobilift to help guests with mobility challenges access our trolleys. Refund Policy: In the event of a blizzard or other significant weather event, we may cancel our event and refund your tickets/transfer your tickets to another event day if you wish. We anticipate this event will sell out quickly. Therefore, refunds will only be granted up to seven (7) days in advance of your event date, unless someone in your group has tested positive with COVID-19. We would be happy to offer a free Family Day Pass in exchange for event tickets that are unable to be used for other reasons. In the Victorian era, Christmas was characterized by traditions like decorated Christmas trees, gift-giving, festive meals, and a focus on family, all heavily influenced by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's reign. Many of these customs, such as the decorated tree and gift exchanges, are still popular today. Mrs. Hurd was well known for her family gatherings, especially around the holiday times. In partnership with Ogunquit’s “Christmas by the Sea,” come and visit the Manor while it displays its holiday best.  Rooms are decorated with ornaments, trees and lights.
