Led by Big Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. of the Young Eagles Black Masking Indian tribe, The Rumble draws inspiration from the Mardi Gras Indian culture of New Orleans. The group takes its name from the ârumble,â the deep, driving backline rhythm that announces the approach of Black Masking Indians during Mardi Gras celebrations. Their performances highlight this rhythmic foundation while bringing audiences into the call-and-response traditions that are central to the culture. The band features AurĂŠlien Barnes (trumpet/percussion), JosĂŠ Maize Jr. (trombone), TJ Norris (bass), Ari Teitel (guitar), Andriu Yanovski (keys), and Trenton OâNeal (drums). April 18 â May 29 Opening Reception April 18th 1 â 3 PM Art in public spaces shapes the community and culture where it appears. The gallery at Waterfall Arts is a public space. While itâs not accessible 24/7 like graffiti on a city street might be itâs free to enter and open to everyone. Make Your Mark will transform the Clifford Gallery into an immersive environment inspired by street art with a variety of installations created for visitors to interact with in a call-and-response format. The exhibition will feature doodle walls one of Candy Changâs Before I Die walls a âstickyâ communal prompt inviting visitors to share what they hope to see more of in the future and a collaboration station where materials will be available for participants to create a piece of art on the spot and immediately add it to the wall building the installation together as the exhibition unfolds. Street art often invites people to pause participate and add something of their own. Make Your Mark brings that spirit into the gallery encouraging visitors of all ages to contribute a drawing message or small artwork. Over the course of the exhibition the gallery will grow and change with every new contributionâreminding us that creativity flourishes when everyone is invited to take part. Program Director Amy Tingle has long envisioned an exhibition like this. She explains âIâve always been drawn to street art and when I travel much of my photography focuses on graffiti murals and found artâcreative expressions left in public spaces for others to encounter and engage with. Iâve been especially inspired by Philadelphiaâs Mural Arts program which shows how art can foster dialogue build relationships and empower communities. With that spirit in mind this exhibition transforms our gallery into an interactive space where visitors can add artwork to the walls and respond to prompts as the show evolves. We are thrilled to announce an upcoming FREE Lafayette event in Saco, Maine, to be held on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, at 3 pm ET. This event will result in the addition of our 3rd Lafayette Trail marker in the Pine Tree State. General Lafayette visited Saco, Maine, during his "Farewell Tour" of the United States on June 24th, 1825, on his way to Portland. He was escorted to Cleave's Hotel by a cavalcade under the command of Colonel George Thacher (1790-1857), where he was greeted by Revolutionary War soldiers. Lafayette's visit to Saco featured numerous themes that Lafayette cherished, such as reconnecting with fellow veterans as well as passing on the story of the American Revolution to future generations. Many children from Saco and nearby Biddeford were introduced to Lafayette on the occasion as "the rising generation to whom we look for the continuation of that liberty which he [Lafayette] and his associates acquired for us." (Eastern Argus, July 12, 1825). The dedication ceremony for this new marker will take place as part of a Lafayette 250 function honoring Lafayette's contributions to American freedom as the United States marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The patriotic function will take place at 3 pm ET at the entrance of Riverfront Park on Front Street, not too far from the site where Cleave's Hotel was located in 1825. We would like to extend our appreciation to the Saco Government, the Saco Parks and Recreation, as well as to the Dyer Library and the Saco Museum, for their tremendous help with the project. Plenty of free parking will be available on site and nearby for participants. This new marker was donated to the City of Saco by The Lafayette Trail, Inc., with funding from the William G. This all-levels workshop introduces students to hot glass sculpting through the creation of a heart-shaped glass form. Participants will learn basic studio safety, become familiar with essential glassblowing tools, and work with an instructor to plan and execute a simple design using colored glass. Students will encase their design in clear glass and shape it into a heart form, with instruction emphasizing controlled sculpting, symmetry, and clarity. Because glassblowing is a collaborative process, students will take turns assisting one another throughout the session. Finished pieces require overnight cooling in the annealer and will be available for pickup at Waterfall Arts on a later date. Shipping is available for an additional fee. This workshop is open to all levels, and no prior glassblowing experience is required. Students currently enrolled in Introduction to Glassblowing are welcome to participate for additional practice, and more experienced students may use this session to refine sculpting techniques for non-round paperweight forms. About the instructor: Brier-Rose Werner Brown is a self-taught torch work artist who specializes in botanical jewelry. She has been blowing glass for 13 years.
