Hopkins County-Madisonville Public Library’s annual Silent Auction Fundraiser will be held at the Main Library’s location on 425 East Center Street.  All funds raised during the Silent Auction will go toward programming for our community. The Silent Auction will begin on April 1st and end on April 18th. Please make sure you are serious before bidding as all bids are final and cannot be retracted once submitted. All items are expected to be picked up by April 25th. If items are not claimed, they will offered to the next highest bidder. This year we have introduced digital bid cards and electronic bidding! All bids can be tracked online using our website found here. Co-Sponsored with the Hopkins County Genealogical Society, please join us on March 7th @ 11:00am to hear The Pennyrile Dulcimer Players. The Pennyrile Dulcimer Players came together as a group in 2013. Weekly practices are held to prepare for performances in a variety of venues. In particular, the group enjoys playing for nursing homes and assisted living facilities. An assortment of string instruments is integrated with the mountain dulcimer to create a unique sound. These include the mandolin, guitar, bowed psaltery, autoharp, banjammer, flute, and percussion instruments. It is the commitment to practice, a desire to learn new songs, and a family atmosphere that keeps the group together. New members are always welcome. Currently, the co-leaders are Nancy Ratliff and Patty Simmons.
