Actually their leader Jack Bronson (James Cromwell) might be alone in this scheme. His buddies are rather resigned to their circumstances while Bronson still clings to the last vestiges of freedom he has. This humorous story touches upon the sadness of many elderly people—especially veterans—who feel shunned or ignored by society. But director Mark Lamprell keeps a light touch and the actors have a terrific chemistry that keeps the story from getting overly sentimental. (Unrated some mature themes.)
