**Book Besties will take a break in December and resume in 2026 as our new program, "Next Chapter." See you next year! ;)Tired of assigned reading? Looking for a community of fellow readers to hang out with? Look no further than BOOK BESTIES, a new kind of book club! Each month we’ll read books of our own choosing. Teens and tweens alike are invited to join us to discuss what we’ve been reading and other pop culture trends, eat some snacks, and meet new friends in a low-key setting. **Teen Council and Book Besties have joined forces to create... NEXT CHAPTER: a space for teens and tweens to have their voices heard and create a reader's community! This group will meet from 5:30-6:30 on the first Monday monthly.The first half of each meeting, members will have time to share ideas about shaping the library and give feedback about programs they'd like to see. The second half, members will have a chance to share what they've been reading/watching/listening to! Come chat with friends and eat snacks in a low-key environment where it's always okay to get off topic!Members can earn a service hour by writing a short review for a book at the end of each meeting. Open to ages 11-19, grades 6-12. Registration is required!

Are you interested in volunteering monthly at our Book Buddies program? Volunteers must register for a training session before they will be allowed to participate in this program!Book Buddies is a returning program in which high school students will be paired with students grades K-5 to help develop literacy skills in young readers! In this training session, we will cover the basics of what you will do as a Book Buddies mentor, practice some scenarios, and answer any questions you have prior to volunteering. If you cannot make it to this training session, look for another training session, as these will be held quarterly. It is important that volunteers are available for Book Buddies monthly on the 3rd Monday from 4:30-5:15pm. Open to high school students grades 9-12. Registration is required. Focus on Your FutureCareer planning is an essential first step for students planning to attend college, particularly for students still deciding their career path.  Proper career planning can help focus their college experience, minimize unnecessary student loan debt, facilitate on-time graduation, and be a stepping stone to a purposeful and prosperous career.  This workshop also reviews the income, savings, and asset strategies to reduce cost.Workshop speakers include high school counselors, financial aid experts, and Certified Financial Planners.  Some workshops may have more than one speaker.Registration is required (one per family).  You will be emailed a Zoom link once we receive your registration.
