Lincoln Land Community College Community Education is again partnering with the Lincoln Home National Historic Site and Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau this summer to present “History Cooks,” a series of free cooking and baking demonstrations of dishes based on iconic Springfield restaurants and foods. All programs will be on Fridays at noon at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Attendees will receive a souvenir recipe card so they can re-create the dishes at home.

Program will be held at Lincoln Home National Historic Site (426 S. 7th St, Springfield, IL 62701) at the picnic benches near the Visitor Center.

Hello Neighbor! Meet the Lincoln’s Neighbor, Elizabeth Jenkins

Experience history up close as Elizabeth Jenkins, a neighabor of the Lincoln family, is brought to life through living history. From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., a historical reenactor will be at the park sharing stories of Elizabeth's life and times in the 1800's.

This will be located at Lincoln Home National Historic Site (426 South 7th Street, Springfield, IL)
