Dog Safety Heroes is a fun, interactive event where kids learn how to safely interact with dogs and what it means to be a responsible dog owner. Through games, activities, and hands-on learning, children will discover how kindness, training, and understanding dog body language help keep both dogs and people safe.   This event is recommended for children ages 5-8. Parents are required to stay with their children during the event.  Every year, over 4.5 million people in the U.S. are bitten by dogs, and children are the most common victims. Most bites to children happen from dogs they know, not strangers. Teaching children how to read dog body language, ask permission before petting, and stay calm around dogs drastically reduces the risk of bites.  At this event, kids will:  Learn when it's safe to approach a dog and when to leave it alone.  Practice "Be a Tree" freeze skills to stay safe around dogs. Explore dog body language and signals. Discover what it means to be a responsible, kind dog owner. Earn a Dog Safety Hero certificate for completing all stations. Kids will gain lifelong skills in dog safety while having a blast. Parents also receive guidance on reinforcing these habits at home. Every 3rd Sunday of the month, Jurassic Gardens hosts a Sensory Sunday event from 10am-12pm, but this one is special! In addition to partnering with Rockin’ the Spectrum, Scale World Order, and our new friends at Pediatric Post and That Kid Place are joining us to make it an even more amazing day! What to expect: From 10am-12pm, Jurassic Gardens will be quiet, and all of the animatronic dinosaurs will be still, allowing dino lovers of all ages to enjoy our 15,000 sq ft dinosaur park at their own pace and comfort level.   That Kid Place is providing a 60 foot sensory activity trailer with wheelchair access. Every square inch is filled with elaborate activities, from games to crawling tubes. Scale World Order will be hosting a live reptile meet and greet, where you can pet and interact with amazing pythons, tortoises, and more!   Pediatric Post will include a dinosaur discovery quest, dino egg hunt, dinosaur crafts, fossil digs, sensory seats and tiles, story time adventure, sing-alongs, fidgets, and weighted lap pads, therapists onsite with free consultations, and more!  We will have additional sensory activities, an Easter Egg Hunt with prizes, a live reptile meet-and-greet, and discounted mini golf.   Rockin’ the Spectrum will also be providing activities and services.
