Ryall YMCA.    ​ They topic will be:  Inclusive Employment: Benefits to Employers, Employees, w/Disabilities and the Community Our October 13 meeting will feature Kristen Sheffield of the Parents Alliance Employment Project (PAEP), Erin Hoving of District 87 Vocational Partners, and Julie Evans, Parent Advocate and Facilitator, in recognition of October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). The discussion will provide an overview of inclusive employment and highlight the benefits it offers to businesses, employees with disabilities, and the broader community. Topics will include: Resources available to employers and employees Successful examples of inclusive employers and employees The benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities Ways businesses can create more inclusive employment opportunities Local resources and partnerships that support inclusive employment The goal is to inform and encourage employers to recognize the value of hiring employees with disabilities and to provide practical resources for creating inclusive workplaces. Join us for our beloved Halloween Festival & Parade event on Sat, Oct 24th from 9:30am-12pm.  Families around town will gather at the Crescent/Glenwood Lot at 9:30am in their best costume and march in the parade, that begins at 9:45am.  Parade Route: Crescent to Forest, North on Forest to Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania West to Main St, end on Main St at 10:15am.  Kids trick-or-treat at the local businesses and vendors onsite on Main St.  Don't forget to enter in the costume contest at the Chamber booth for a prize for best costume.  Dogs are welcome to join in on the costume fun, as well!

The Chamber Ambassadors are dedicated to enhancing the public image of the Chamber and of the community. Chosen for their commitment to this purpose, the Ambassadors promote goodwill, boost Chamber business and promote Glen Ellyn. Through their activities they encourage solidarity within the Chamber membership and foster a better understanding of the role of the Glen Ellyn Chamber. Committee members have been active Chamber members for several years and have actively participated on another committee, served as a committee chair, or held positions on the Board of Directors. The Ambassadors act as official hosts and hostesses of the Glen Ellyn Chamber at all Chamber events. Ambassadors attend Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours and Business Before Hours events. They organize, promote and sponsor the annual Steak Fry held in August.
