Winter WonderLights, presented by the UGA Office of the President, has become a beloved Athens tradition. For the fourth year in a row, it was named the best local event in the Athens Banner-Herald Community’s Choice Awards. The show attracted over 65,000 visitors last year. The show will run on select evenings from Nov. 21 through Dec. 30. Visitors will travel through a Winter Wondercave, along Jingle Bell Lane, into the Northern Lights and through a Frosted Forest, among other dazzling features.

Tuesday Tour

Join us at 2 p.m. every Tuesday for an in-depth, one-hour tour of the State Botanical Garden’s Porcelain and Decorative Arts Museum. These tours are led by the curator or docents. Tours are $5 per person, payable at the Garden Gift Shop upon arrival.

$12 general admission | $10 for members Register OnlinePlease join the Friends as we welcome Jenny Cruse-Sanders, director of the State Botanical Garden, to provide an update on the current state of the garden. Cruse-Sanders has served as director of the garden since February 2017. Before accepting the director’s position here, she served as vice president for science and conservation at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.  The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is constantly changing and growing. Cruse-Sanders will give an update on current and future plans that will make the garden even more exciting and welcoming for our visitors.  The registration deadline is noon on Jan. 2.
