SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is a free program offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and your local Area Agency on Aging. Specially trained volunteers can assist with Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance questions by providing one-on-one counseling and information. During open enrollment SHINE will be at the library every Thursday morning 10 am to noon through December 7th on a first come first served basis.

There are two solar eclipse events in the next several months. Though neither path directly crosses the state, the Florida skies will still have partial views of the annular eclipse on October 14, 2023, and the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, depending on weather conditions. Free solar eclipse glasses will be available to pick up between October 9 – 13, during library hours. Limited supplies, one per person.  Also available at the Library is an Informational Sheet by NASA and a children’s solar eclipse craft.

Frayed Knot knit and Crochet Club

Stitch and chat with others who share your passion for knitting and crochet. Bring your own project to work on, or create something new. Basic supplies available for novices along with books and DVDs to check out and take home to continue practicing.
