Join us for a special evening with internationally acclaimed artist Jun Kaneko (Japanese-American, born 1942). Doors open at 5 pm, guests will enjoy delicious heavy hors dâoeuvres from local favorites, along with a complimentary glass of wine and a cash bar.* The Curatorâs Chat with artist Jun Kaneko, Ree Kaneko, and Joanna Robotham, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, will be held at 6 pm in the Morsani Atrium. The Tampa Museum of Art is pleased to present Jun Kaneko: Silence Before Sound, the first major survey of the artistâs work in Florida. The exhibition celebrates five decades of artâfrom early drawings created in Japan, to ceramics he made as a member of the influential California Clay Movement in the 1960s, and Kanekoâs groundbreaking projects that blurred the boundaries of painting, ceramics, and sculpture. Art on the Spectrum Hours:Last Sunday of Each Month, 9am â 11am Art on the Spectrum is a special monthly event designed to welcome individuals with sensory sensitivities, developmental differences, and their caregivers. Enjoy exploring the museum in a calm, low-crowd environment with sensory-friendly tools and supportive assistance available. You can borrow noise-canceling headphones or other sensory items from the front desk as well â just ask! This event offers children and their families a chance to connect with others who share similar experiences, while enjoying all the museum has to offer. Free admission for Art on the Spectrum is made possible thanks to: The Autism License Plate Fund and The Autism Services Grants Council. New Year's Eve | Museum closes at 3pm

The Tampa Museum of Art will open at 10 am, but close early at 3 pm on December 31, so that staff and volunteers can enjoy new year celebrations with their families. The Museum will be open for regular hours on January 1, New Yearâs Day.
