This exhibition presents photographer Linda Troeller’s decades-long exploration of self and others. Closing Reception: Thursday, December 18, 5 to 7pm ACA Pabst Visitor Center & Gallery 1414 Art Center Ave, New Smyrna Beach, FL, United States Previous ACA master artist Linda Troeller (residency #167, 2017) will have work on display at ACA’s Pabst Visitor Center & Gallery September 9th through December 19th 2025. The exhibition entitled Me, Myself and Others will showcase Troeller’s photography throughout her entire career as an artist. Her decades-long self-portraiture lets us glimpse into her past and present self. In an age of hyper-curated online presence, her work is counter-cultural and a combatively truthful documentation of the self and change. This collection of self-portraits presents like the pages of a diary, but with the grounds of speaking to taboo truths about the female body. Troeller embodies the philosophy of Susan Sontag who said, “Women should allow their faces to show the lives they have lived. Women should tell the truth.” In her self-portrait with a photo of Sontag, a middle-aged Troeller wears a glittering headdress and bright red lipstick. Glammed up yet wraith-like, the image seems to hint at the theater of the feminine that Sontag warns us about. Although predominantly self-portraits, the exhibition also shows portraiture of Troeller by other photographers, photojournalism of the Chelsea Hotel, and documentation of Healing Water therapies around the world. Troeller’s work captures the transitioning of The Chelsea Hotel and its residents from the twentieth to the twenty-first century and reveals the life of an iconic hotel in its twilight from her perspective as a member of its artist community. Troeller is an NYC art photographer and author. Some of her books include Living Inside the Chelsea Hotel, Healing Waters, Sex. Death. Transcendence. and Spa Journeys. She received the 2024 Vanguard Award at Nevada Women’s Film Festival for Healing Waters Film. She currently resides in New Smyrna Beach. All events are free and open to the public. Program Components: The Healing Arts for Homeschool Students combines visual arts, culinary exploration, and dance/ movement to provide a well-rounded, immersive educational experience. The program takes place on the second Tuesday of each month during the school year at ACA’s main campus. The students rotate through three engaging classes, each with a different teacher and theme. This year’s theme is Florida Nature. She began as a high school art teacher and went on to earn five teaching degrees, including a master’s degree and certification as areading specialist. In retirement, she remains active in the arts community, volunteering with the Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA) and creating distinctive paper collages that reflect her lifelong passion for education and the arts.   Sue Flynn became a Personal Chef in 2002 after a 30-year career in retail. A member of the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA), she earned her certification in 2005. Her lifelong interest in teaching found expression at Atlantic Center for the Arts, where she has led culinary programs including “Food as Art” for middle school students, ACA’s summer art camp, and most recently The Healing Arts for Homeschool Students program (2022–2025). Nadine Soldivieri is an accomplished performer and teacher with an extensive background in the performing arts. She earned her Associate of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and has dedicated her career to both performance and education, sharing her passion with students of all ages. Her training spans a wide range of disciplines, including tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, gymnastics, acrobatics, voice, and theatre. Nadine has had the privilege of studying under many distinguished artists, among them George Tomal (ABT Co.), Carolyn Clark (ABT Co.), Joseph Carow (ABT Co.), Edward Villella (NYC Ballet Co.), Mia Michaels (So You Think You Can Dance), Savion Glover, Omar Edwards (Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk), Robert Fitch (Annie), Frank Hatchett, Germaine Salsburg, Phil Black, and Charles (Chuck) Kelley.
