Each year we are required by state law to teach 5 hours of instruction on social/emotional mental health. These lessons are now called "Resiliency: Civic and Character Education and Life Skills Education." There are a total of 8 topics focused on strategies to build skills for resiliency reinforce positive core values prevention of abuse and addiction to alcohol nicotine and drugs as well as two topics specifically on mental wellness: 1. Suicide Prevention and 2.
