Peru is a country in western South America that has captivated travelers, explorers, and dreamers for centuries. Peru’s magic lies in its people and their enduring traditions. Known for its breathtaking landscapes, rich history, vibrant culture, and legendary sites, Peru is a land where the past and present blend seamlessly.  Join us to visit the land of the Incas, on a journey through the capital city Lima to the ancient capital of the Inca empire Cusco.  We will enjoy the archeological ruins and terraced hillsides of the Sacred Valley and the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu as well as the mountain villages in the towering Andes and the indigenous traditions of the Uro and Taquile on Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Elsie Quirk Library.

"For every action there is a reaction" isn't just a saying in this class! Learn how to react confidently to whatever life throws at you on and off the stage! Play theatre games and explore improv while learning about the actor's "instruments": the voice, body, mind, and imagination. Instructor 'Ce Schafler, has extensive experience working with children and in youth drama education having been an English & Acting Teacher, Child Advocate, Match Support Specialist for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and a Children's Theatre & Performing Arts Director. Registration is required for the first class and limited to 10 tweens ages 9-12.  This program is provided through a partnership with Englewood Creative Arts.
