After lots of soul searching I jumped into a career of painting in 2013. I have been doing so full time since selling fine art, prints, and licensing my work. Workshop | Adult Pottery Playhouse

REGISTER HEREThe ceramic bowl is your canvas in this adult version of the nostalgic “pottery playhouse”! Fruit bowl, salad bowl, or decorative, this project is a great addition to your home. Perfect to do with your partner, friends, and yourself as a creative outing that yields a beautiful and unique takeaway. Ceramic Artist Kass O’Brien will be fabricating the ceramic bowls and there to guide you in your glaze design and application process. *The glazed platters will need to be picked up at a later date once fired in the kiln. This workshop is suited for beginners and experienced artists alike! Attendees will learn different glazing techniques including hand painting, stenciling, and others. All materials will be provided. To request a refund and cancel your ticket, please call 561-330-9614* About the Artist: Kass O’Brien grew up in Pennsylvania, spending much of her childhood fishing and sailing on Lake Erie. Kass’s mother was a docent at a nearby art museum, which sparked her curiosity for art. She became active in the art community as a teenager, and later went on to receive a BFA at the Columbus College of Art and Design and an MFA at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her style focused on urban decay, inspired by steel mills along the Great Lakes. When she moved to Florida, Kass became inspired by the local scenery and began considering different mediums, like ceramics, to express her love of nature. Whether it is seaweed that has washed ashore or a leaf that has fallen from a tree, she tries to transfer these moments into each piece that she creates.

Workshop | Gelli Plate Printmaking

REGISTER HERELed by Janie Reisler $90 (includes materials fee) In this new full day workshop, attendees will experiment with mixed media printing using a GELLI PLATE. What is a Gelli Plate? Gelli Plates are reusable printing plates that let you make monoprints without a large, expensive press. They look and feel like gelatin. With quick clean up they allow for many uses and encourage experimentation and layering. This is a fun way to use printmaking! What to expect: You will create unique papers by color blending, working with layers, mark making, substractive methods, layered mask printing, stencils, leaves and natural materials, and more. With a short lesson on color theory and blending, students will leave the workshop with novelty art papers to add to their future art projects or to hang as a unique fine art print! Each student will receive 2 pieces of print making paper to create “final” pieces after a few hours of experimentation on mixed media paper.
