Bring your little one to the Nature Center each week to develop their early childhood readiness skills through nature exploration! Practice fine motor skills, literacy comprehension, and more at the Evergreen Nature Center! These programs are designed for children ages 2-5 years old. All children must have an adult in attendance. Come dressed to explore the outdoors! This program is completely FREE and no registration is needed. Program runs for approximately 45 – 60 minutes.

In this session, participants will explore the art of assemblage by crafting their own unique “postcards” using found objects and unexpected materials. This workshop invites you to experiment, tell a story, and transform everyday items into meaningful, one-of-a-kind artworks—no prior experience needed. All materials will be provided. Evergreen Players presents   MURDER PROHIBITED AT HIWAN A Prohibition Era Murder Mystery Hiwan Homestead · Evergreen, Colorado · 1933   Adapted by the Evergreen Mountain Area Historical Society Stuart Collins Original script by Nicole Dickson · ICMT Murder Mystery Company   Evergreen Players and Hiwan History Museum are teaming up to offer an immersive, interactive mystery event within the former log home of Dr. Neosha Josepha Williams Douglas, built between 1893 and 1918 located on Meadow Drive in Evergreen. The museum transforms into the 1920’s home of former crime boss Victor Moretti, and the small audience, as “guests” for Moretti’s speakeasy party assist Detective Gunn in solving the ensuing crime. Performances: Evenings April 17-18, 24-25 @ 7:30; matinees April 19 and 26 @ 2:00. Ticket price is $30 www.evergreenplayers.org Note: a few stairs are involved in the event. The Evergreen Players is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization producing 6 shows per year in the foothills. A catastrophic depression engulfed Colorado in 1893. The government's decision to adopt the gold standard and stop buying silver hit the mining industry like a cave-in. Unemployment reached 90 percent in Leadville, a city built on silver. Strikes by union miners in Cripple Creek and Leadville led to destruction and death. Political parties split along battle lines of gold versus silver. By 1898, the country had begun to recover, but silver mining was never the same. Join author John Steinle as he uses firsthand commentary and historic photographs, to tell the story of Coloradans trapped in the unprecedented social, economic and political conflict of America's first great depression.
