Take the first steps into designing graphics and laser cutting. Using Inkscape, a free vector graphics software, we will create custom project designs to engrave and cut on 1/8-inch wood pieces. No previous experience required, and all materials will be provided. Ages 9 and up.After completing this badging class, you will be able to use the 3D printers on your own during open hours at the makerspaces at East and Sand Creek libraries, as well as Library 21c. If you are unable to attend this badging class or would prefer not to attend in person, an virtual badging option is available.Makerspace classes can fill up quickly, so please register when registration opens. If you are unable to register for this class, you can find other Inkscape classes at all three makerspaces.All participants must have their own library card. The digital world can feel overwhelming to all of us. This class is designed to introduce students to the basics of using computers. The class assumes no prior knowledge of computers. Students will learn the differences between types of devices (desktop, laptop, table, phone), how to use basic functions of a computer and troubleshooting tips for common issues. The class meets weekly for four consecutive weeks, with three sessions that are instructor-led and cover material on the given topic and a fourth session that is conducted as an open lab for students to ask questions, take proctored exams, or get more information.
