Recommended for kids ages 8+ years old. Teens, Adults, and Families welcome. Everyone Can Create is a beginner’s course on drawing, sketching, and creating on the iPad. We will be using the GarageBand App. Using the wonders of GarageBand, Mini Music Makers teaches students about creating a live loop grid using pre-recorded Apple Loops whether it's from Apple or one of the Soundpacks available for free on the Apple Music Store. Students may record their own songs based on the way they proceed to use their live loop grid as well as record their own loops with the various instruments available to them. We will also teach them how to edit their loops and add effects to their loops to vary the sound made. Everything needed for this course will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own personal iPad with the app downloaded (especially if you want to keep your work). Free. During the mock interview, you will practice answering questions about your application, background, and civics test, as well as practice the reading and writing test! Requirements to take the Citizenship Class: You must have been a legal permanent resident for at least 5 years, or 3 years if married to a U.S. Citizen. You must read, write, and understand basic English. Want to learn about local government and issues affecting youth in San Jose? Join us at the San Jose Youth Commission meeting! This in-person event will consist of discussions about city policies, city department reports, Youth Commissioner district reports, and more. The minutes and agendas are linked here. The Youth Commission meets on the 4th Monday of the month, beginning at 6:30 PM. The Youth Commission does not meet in the months of July or December.  Meetings are predominantly held in person at Council Chambers in City Hall and are also streamed virtually, but always refer to the meeting agenda to confirm the meeting location. The San Jose Youth Commission is recognized as the official youth advisory group to the Mayor and City Council. Youth Commissioners develop policy recommendations concerning youth and support youth who serve their community through civic engagement and participation. ADA Accommodation Requests

Music and Movement is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities through songs, rhymes, finger plays, and movement activities. Music and Movement is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of learning for all ages. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers!  Free, 50 person maximum. Story Time tickets required.
