Hello Lafayette Community!!! It's your turn to run the Stop, Drop and Go line on June 3rd and 4th! Please help staff the final two days of this school year. We only need 10 volunteers!! Many thanks to everyone who has volunteered this year, especially the SDG core volunteers!! For the final time this year: For those not familiar, Stop, Drop and Go is our morning vehicle drop off program that runs along Anza between 36th and 37th. SDG is organized through the PTA and only works if parents volunteer for shifts! It's really a lovely way to start the day welcoming kids to school. SDG also helps us to be good neighbors during morning drop off and keeps kids safe during what can be a hectic time. The shift runs from 7:30-8:00am. We need 5 parents each day to help run the SDG line. This consists of setting up the traffic cones, A-frames, and pedestrian signs, while wearing orange vests that are provided. All items are found in the SDG closet that is across from the auditorium. Once cars start arriving to drop off students, you will need to open the door, help the student(s) out of the car and guide them safely to the sidewalk. At 8:00am you will need to break down the set-up and return everything to the SDG closet. Other helpful tips: You can drop your child off at the school yard at the beginning of your shift. There is a crack in the street that can be used as a guide when setting up yellow figures and orange cones on Anza. Please make sure there is enough room for two way traffic outside the SDG line. No elementary school students are allowed to help out with the line. If your kids are with you they must stay on the sidewalk. Every volunteer must wear a reflective vest that is provided. Cars are not allowed to park while the line is moving, unless there are no cars waiting in the line or they are a marvelous and magical teacher! If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected] or message Emily Bonelli-Padow (Stop, Drop and Go chair) through Konstella.Activity Link: https://www.konstella.com/activity-details.html?activityId=660c302a1b5c17d6543e16af
