Gem Painting is taking the crafting world by storm. It’s the perfect mixture of paint-by-numbers and mosaic art, without the paint! Instead, tiny gems make a beautiful pattern and sparkle in the light. Gem Painting is a recurring series that invites creative makers to gather in the same place on a regular basis. If you are interested in participating, attend the first Friday of the month where canvases will be provided, and then drop in on the dates that work for your schedule so you can work on your masterpiece. Participants are not required to attend every session, but we will only be accepting new participants on a monthly basis. As this project aims to gather creative makers in the community, each participant's gem painting materials will be labeled and held at the library until the month is complete. Check the schedule below for when we will provide canvases to new participants and when we will only allow returning participants to drop in. December 5, 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM -- Canvases available for new participants December 13, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM -- Drop in for returning participants. New canvases will not be available at this session. December 19, 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM -- Drop in for returning participants. New canvases will not be available at this session. December 27, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM -- Drop in for returning participants. New canvases will not be available at this session. This is a fun and relaxing activity that’s good for mental health and wellness. This introductory course provides an overview of leading conversational AI tools, including ChatGPT, Bing AI, Google's Bard, and Anthropic's Claude. Students will gain hands-on experience interacting with these systems and learn how they are revolutionizing fields from content creation to customer service. Over the duration of the course, students will: · How to create an account with various AI platforms · Understand the underlying technology powering conversational AI · Learn techniques for properly prompting ChatGPT, Bard and Claude to get optimal responses · Evaluate the strengths and limitations of these tools · Explore current and future applications of conversational AI Through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities, students will develop core competencies in conversing with AI systems and leveraging them for a variety of purposes, including general learning, practical tasks, document/image creation and more. Class will encourage group discussions to enable an exchange of techniques and experiences. By the end of the course, students will have access to all the AI platforms and acquire the specialized skills in prompting conversational AI agents and applying their capabilities to solve problems and enhance productivity. Whether you want to utilize these technologies professionally or just explore their possibilities, this course will provide a solid foundation in the current state of AI assistants and where they are headed. Please note: If you are planning on creating an account for any of the tools we will be using in the class, you will need to have access to your email, so please ensure you have your email passwords ready for verification. Additionally, you may need to verify your account through a text message, so please ensure you have your cell phone available during the class. If you would like to use your own computer or phone/tablet, you will need to have access to your passwords and email accounts, including Google and Apple (if you are planning to download the app on your phone or tablet). The class is limited to the first 10 students.
