Join us for a relaxing and accessible T’ai Chi Chih® class led by certified instructor Benjamin Brisjar. This gentle practice consists of 19 movements and one pose designed to circulate and balance your body’s vital energy, or “Chi.” Developed in 1974 by Justin Stone, T’ai Chi Chih® is easy to learn and offers lasting benefits for health, serenity, and well-being. All levels are welcome. About the Instructor: Benjamin Brisjar received his accreditation to teach T’ai Chi Chih® from the T’ai Chi Chih International Foundation in 2018 and has been practicing since 2013. He currently teaches for members of the Pittsburg Fifty Plus Club (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9 a.m. on Zoom) and for the general public at the Crystal Salt Cave in Brentwood (Mondays at 11 a.m.). He also serves as a T’ai Chi Chih® Teacher Prep Coach, supporting students who wish to become certified instructors themselves. Fridays at 11 a.m. at the Pittsburg Library. The activities are geared to students who have a solid foundation in letter recognition and letter sounds (kids in grades 1-3). This free literacy program is led by an experienced literacy tutor whose strategies are based on instructional and Science of Reading methods.  This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Pittsburg Library. The Pittsburg Library is pleased to host a Pop-up Tech Hub, where interns collaborate with experienced staff from Tech Exchange to offer a variety of valuable services to the community. This program is designed to support anyone who needs help with technology—whether it’s solving problems, learning new skills, or accessing affordable internet. Services include: Personalized one-on-one tech support tailored to individual needs Instruction in essential digital skills to build confidence using computers, smartphones, and other devices Assistance signing up for affordable internet programs to keep the community connected Culturally sensitive and bilingual support available in both English and Spanish Important Information The Tech Hub operates on a drop-in basis, and no appointment is needed. Visitors are welcome anytime during scheduled hours. Assistance is provided by the Tech Exchange team on a first come, first served basis. If there is a wait, sessions are typically limited to 20 to 30 minutes to ensure everyone has the opportunity to receive help. To keep the schedule running smoothly and provide quality assistance for all, the last session will begin promptly at 4:40 p.m. This ensures enough time for thorough support while respecting the library’s closing time.
