First Industry Night at Parkside Tuesday, June 9 | 4:00 PM to Close The Los Gatos Chamber is launching monthly Los Gatos Food & Wine Group Industry Nights, rotating host locations throughout town from 4:00 PM to close. The goal is to bring Los Gatos hospitality owners, managers, and staff together to build camaraderie and experience fellow local businesses.   Hospitality professionals are encouraged to stop by after work, bring team members, and connect with others in Los Gatos’ hospitality community. General Information The Planning Commission performs duties and exercises power and authority with regard to planning, subdivisions, zoning, zoning administration and other land use regulatory controls as prescribed by ordinance and state law. The Planning commission consists of seven (7) residents of the Town of Los Gatos, each serving a 4-year term. Applicants are asked by Council to demonstrate knowledge of the Town Code and its land use and planning policies. The Commission has several standing committees and individual Planning Commissioners also represent the commission on a number of Council-appointed committees.  Committee terms are for 1 year and are appointed by the Planning Commission Chair. The Planning Commission meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, in the Town Council Chambers at 7pm.  Commission meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15.  Live and archived videos are also available online. All meetings are open to the public.

This exhibition celebrates the revitalization of Muwekma Ohlone culture, focusing on their efforts to reclaim traditions through youth education and empowerment. Additionally, we strive to provide a platform for the Muwekma to tell their story of cultural connections between neighboring indigenous groups as well as the 2024 Trail of Truth, a sacred journey of the Muwekma Ohlone across the United States that was facilitated and honored through a series of ceremonial relationships with many indigenous tribes along the way. This exhibition seeks to advance the efforts of the Muwekma in land stewardship, which provides resources for regalia making, dance, music, song, language, and traditional healing, while addressing key topics such as land and food sovereignty. The exhibition also illuminates how the land inspires cultural practices and the revitalization of the Chochenyo language. We aim to shed light on the Tribe’s ongoing cultural revival after a century of erasure following the loss of, and the fight to regain, federal recognition. Made in collaboration with the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe and San Jose State University. More information to come. New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) is excited to partner with LGS Recreation to deliver this week-long camp for young artists to create a unique artwork that captures their perspective on the history and charm of Los Gatos. Participants will learn art techniques, explore the museum’s art & history exhibitions, walk the Los Gatos Creek trail, learn about local flora and fauna, visit local Los Gatos historic landmarks, and even meet some key town officials. Each day we’ll focus on a new topic and by the end of the week students will have completed a one-of-a-kind painting reflecting the theme “Capturing Life in Los Gatos.” The camp concludes with a mini-art show where campers proudly display their work for family and friends. This is a highly engaging interactive art and history experience that you don’t want to miss. This is an evolution of a previous program, the Los Gatos Footbridge Mural Project. Returning students are welcome! Registration coming soon!
