Come code at the library. Get help getting started or dive deeper into something you already know. Code@TheLibrary is a space for self-directed coding in Scratch, HTML, Java, Javascript, and/or Python. Mentors will help you get started or support you with questions you have. Library Chromebooks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own laptop. Requirements: Must be in at least 6th grade (open for grades 6+, teens and adults) - please respect the age requirement. Often teens lose opportunities to register because spots are filled by kids younger than the age minimum. Must have some knowledge of coding or a strong willingness to learn Must create a personal account (free) with Scratch (for just getting started) and/or Replit (for HTML/Java/Javascript/Python) before coming to Code@TheLibrary Code@TheLibrary will be hosted by coding pros Elias Fretwell (teen) and Luke Fretwell (adult), both co-founders of Civic Hacking (hacking for good - civichackingagency.org).
