A great prep assignment for the students to do next March in time with our presentation with Ric would be to have them write on an index card their answers to these two things: 1. What do you like to do? 2. What are you good at? This year, we have an amazing opportunity to host Ric Coy, who works for UCLA and heads up the Wooden Academy there.  Ric Coy: Title: Assistant Athletics Director, Student-Athlete Development Sport AD: Beach Volleyball Alma Mater: Simpson College, '88 OVERSEES COACH WOODEN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY @ UCLA Ric has been a part of the Academic & Student Services staff since 2003. He started as an Academic Mentor for football, then progressed to an Academic Counselor, Assistant Director of Academic & Student Services finally his current position as the Associate Director of Academic & Student Services. His responsibilities include oversight of all Student Development Programming (Bruin Athletic Council, Wooden Leadership Academy, Career Networking, Community Outreach, Workshops, Welcome Back Picnic), Orientations, Academic Class Meetings, Academic Travel Coordinator, Mid Term Reports, Graduation and management of the Learning Center Computer Lab. Originally from Wisconsin (yes, he’s a die-hard Green Bay Packer fan), Ric attended Simpson College, a DIII school in Iowa, where he competed in Track & Field and Tennis and received his B.A. in Speech Communication/Theater Education. In 2000, Ric received his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Cal State Dominquez Hills.
