Contra Costa County Health Services in partnership with Contra Costa County Library System are here to support library staff and patrons alike. Currently the Library Wellness Team consists of a Community Support Worker and Mental Health Clinician. They assist individuals in various areas that library staff may not be able to. They offer education about Contra Costa Countyâs mental health and community support services. They do this through lived experience, education and a passion to help and serve our communities to enhance wellness. The EHSD 4 Our Families Navigators are on site at the Concord Library every First and Third Mondays of the month from 10am-4pm. They can provide assistance with resource referrals, navigation and benefits application assistance. Benefit assistance includes CalFresh, Medi-Cal, CalWORKS, General Assistance, and Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI). No need to make an appointment just drop in during these hours and our Family Navigator can assist you.

This month we'll reflect on Winter Magic. We'll talk about stories of enchanted forests, moonlit quests, and the quiet spells that stir when the world grows still. From solstice legends to shimmering fantasy realms, weâll dive into how writers capture the seasonâs mystery and transform it into pure storytelling magic. For our meetings, expect a warmup conversation, a discussion on a variety of books and movies and then, there will be time to write with creative prompts. This is a supportive space where writers of all levels can connect and share their work if they choose to. Bring your favorite notebook (or your laptop and coffee mug) and get ready to write. Join us for BYOC, or BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR, Movie Night at the Concord Library. Bring a camping chair, or a bean bag, or a blanket, or a pillow, or whatever you'd like to sit on during the show! We will be watching the 1984 black comedy horror film Gremlins (PG) and will be providing popcorn. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages (with a lid). Registration not required. Sure, he's cute. Of course you can keep him. But heed these three warnings: Don't ever get him wet. Keep him away from bright light. And the most important thing, the one thing you must never forget: no matter how much he cries, no matter how much he begs . . . never, never feed him after midnight.
