Bring your children and enjoy stories, songs, and activities that support early literacy and healthy development! Geared toward children ages 2–5 and their caregivers, each Storytime lasts 45 minutes and includes a hands-on activity and free play. This program takes place on the first Friday of every month through 2025. Starting in 2026, Storytime will be held weekly. Everyone is welcome, please join us! We can’t wait to meet you.

Read to a Dog gives kids the chance to read to a non-judgmental listener, one who will accept the story exactly as they read it. For many children, this allows them a rare chance to experience stress free reading. Being able to relax and have fun reading increases motivation to read, which is an essential element in becoming a successful reader. Here is a list of our current team of dogs. Substitutes may be present. How does Read to a Dog work? Kids come to library during Read to a Dog and select a book to read to a furry friend. All of the dogs and handlers who participate have been certified as therapy dogs by an accredited organization. Thinking of adopting a pet? Learn more at Pima Animal Care Center.

Movie Saturday-Polar Express

Come, relax, snack on some popcorn and enjoy a movie. Movies are scheduled for the first Saturday of the Month. Call the Woods Memorial Library Branch for more information.

Visit the Bookbike at the Tucson House

The Bookbike gives out free books, library cards, and information about library and literacy programs, as well as bike maps and information about bicycling events. Visit the Bookbike at the Tucson House,1501 N. Oracle Road on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
