Read to a Dog gives kids the chance to read to a non-judgmental listener, one who will accept the story exactly as they read it. For many children, this allows them a rare chance to experience stress free reading. Being able to relax and have fun reading increases motivation to read, which is an essential element in becoming a successful reader. Here is a list of our current team of dogs. Substitutes may be present. How does Read to a Dog work? Kids come to library during Read to a Dog and select a book to read to a furry friend. The Homeless ID Project empowers individuals and families experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives by providing access to replacement identification documents required to obtain housing, employment, and other vital services. We assist with applications for birth certificates in all 50 states, US territories and those born abroad in addition to assistance with State IDs and Driver's Licenses.
