Join the Anchorage Chamber for an Annual Report followed by an update from the Alliance to Activate Anchorage (AAA). Panelists: Kathleen McArdle, President/CEO, Anchorage Chamber of Commerce David Kasser, Sr. Vice President - Sales, Visit Anchorage Heather Harris, Anchorage Economic Development Corp. and Radhika Krishna, Executive Director, Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd.   What is the Alliance to Activate Anchorage The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, Visit Anchorage, the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation, and the Anchorage Downtown Partnership have come together to form the Alliance to Activate Anchorage (AAA), a non-binding, consensus-driven coalition on economic and workforce goals to improve stability and activate growth in the community. The AAA is comprised of two board representatives from each organization who further strengthen the connections that already exist at the executive and staff level. The respective organizations have many shared goals that are vital to the stability and future of Anchorage, and their combined memberships represent a significant portion of Anchorage businesses, workforce, and economic activities across all sectors. The Anchorage School District’s (ASD) Academy Coaches are on the cutting edge of this transition, helping high schools to offer students specialized pathways, technical training, and direct connections to the local workforce. This event will showcase how the investment in foundational soft skills is leveraged and enhanced by the Academy Coaches and their industry partners to create concrete, sustainable career pipelines. Key Discussion Points Bridging Soft Skills to Technical Proficiency: How Academy Coaches integrate and reinforce essential soft skills—such as communication and teamwork—within the context of technical and career-specific training (e.g., healthcare, trades, IT). Industry Partner Perspectives: Insights from industry leaders on the specific skills they look for in Academy graduates, and how their partnerships with ASD are strengthening the local talent pool. This group is open to all Anchorage Chamber members and non-members of all ages. Mission Statement: To promote membership with and within the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, while developing and expanding personal business networks. This energetic group of people work together to maintain contact with other Anchorage Chamber members while helping to promote the Anchorage Chamber as a whole. Ambassadors are present at Anchorage Chamber functions and are the major coordinators for Business After Hours, Membership Orientation, and ribbon-cutting events. Meetings are held from 4 to 5 pm on the second Wednesday of the month. Please join us for a Celebration of the Alaska Business Hall of Fame through a special edition digital magazine that includes videos and speeches from past Laureates, students, behind the scenes footage, bloopers, and more.The induction ceremony into the Alaska Business Hall of Fame will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the Dena'ina Center in Downtown Anchorage, AK. Alaska Business is the Title sponsor of this event. Alaska Business will feature an interview and biography of each of the Laureates in the January 2026 edition. All proceeds from the event will benefit Junior Achievement of Alaska's statewide K-12 programs teaching financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship to more than 15,000 students annually in Alaska.
