America250 is a nonpartisan initiative working to engage every American in commemorating and celebrating the 250th anniversary of our country in 2026. The guiding principle for Alaska’s participation is History for Tomorrow highlighting the importance of the next generation to Alaska’s future. The theme was inspired by the Alaska Constitution Convention members, who, in a resolution passed on February 5, 1956, bequeathed the state constitution they had just forged to Alaska’s youth. “You are our future,” states the resolution. “We ask you to take tomorrow and dream.“ Like Alaska’s optimistic founders who created the 49th Star in the Union, America250-Alaska believes that when young people learn how they connect to Alaska’s past, they will be more inclined to contribute to building a prosperous future for our state. The Alaska Aviation Museum's Fly By Festival is a community-focused aviation event centered around low-level flybys over Lake Hood. The event brings together pilots, families, and local organizations for a day that mixes aviation with hands-on activities and relaxed outdoor fun. In addition to the flybys, there will be live music throughout the day, a selection of local food trucks, and a beer garden for adults. Family-friendly activities include face painting, an indoor “airport” play area for kids, rocket launching, and a variety of STEM activities designed to get younger attendees engaged with aviation and science. The festival is designed to be accessible and informal, whether you’re there for the planes, the activities, or just to spend time outside, it’s an easygoing way to experience Anchorage’s aviation culture up close.

The Administrative offices are located in between the North and South Terminals, at 5000 West International Airport Rd, Room C3890, 3rd Floor. Access Door to elevator is located off Tower Road or off the connector hall between North and South Terminal. Parking at the North Terminal is recommended. There is also a $5,000.00 deposit required with each proposal; the Airport will fully refund the deposits of unsuccessful proposers.
