This HCS Board Meeting will be held in the AV room at Huntsville High School. More information about meetings, including how to sign up for citizen comments, may be found on the Board of Education page. Citizen comments will begin at 5:30PM and will not be broadcast. The meeting and broadcast will then begin immediately after the conclusion of the citizen comments. All HCS board meetings are able to be viewed using the Huntsville City Board of Education’s Educational TV service (ETV) on Wow channel 3, Comcast channel 17, on the district’s Facebook page, and here on the district website.

Following last week's school closure due to severe weather, HCS is making a minor schedule adjustment to the academic calendar. Currently, the last day of school is set for Thursday, May 23, which will be a half-day and early dismissal (elementary schools dismiss at 11:30 AM; middle/junior highs, all grades for AAA/ASFL dismiss at 12 PM; high schools dismiss at 12:40 PM). In order to account for the school closure on May 9, HCS will make Friday, May 24 a remote learning day. Students will not report to school campuses. Teachers and employees will continue with an employee workday as previously planned. Students will receive academic packets on or before Thursday, May 23 for the remote learning day on Friday, May 24. Students will not be required to turn in their packet, and packets will not be graded. Teachers will be available via email on Friday, May 24 for any students who may have questions or need support. Students are encouraged to work on their packets throughout the summer in order to practice academic skills and prepare for next school year.
